I think the point they're trying to make is why Ben lied to Luke at first. This is how the conversation would've gone if he told Luke the truth from the beginning. I put your dad in a wheelchair and made it so he didn't even know you exist. Thanks Ben. It was for the best for me huh?

I just watched epi3 and I noticed that Obi-Wan never met Lars or his family, but somehow he knew where to drop baby-luke. Only emo-anakin & portman visited them in the second movie.
One could say that they visited them some time in between 2 & 3. But it was never mentioned and anakins character in 3 & 2 was such that I never felt he gave a damn about those dudes in the outskirts of mos eisley.
