practice of upward wrist strike or black tiger rise (Hei Hu Ti) 黑虎提

1. upward wrist strike (black tiger rise)
two more times.
2. collapsing palm (Ta Zhang 塌掌or black tiger steals heart 黑虎偷心)
3. upward wrist strike.
4. elbow push (Ding Xin Zhou 顶心肘)
5. rotation of the arm (Gun Bei 滚臂)
6. downward palm (Pi Zhang 劈掌, or tiger jumping 虎扑)
7. morning sun hand (Zhao Yang Shou 朝阳手) and penetrating back strike (Chuan Bei Kao 穿背靠or bear back extending/Xiong Bei Cheng 熊背撑)
one more time.
8. double pressing palms (Shuang Ta Zhang 双塌掌 or bear stance).

note:
1. move 7 and 8 are actually from Ba Gua with the Ba Ji power generation methods.
2. upward wrist strike may be a fake or miss, it is then followed with pushing downward palm or elbow push.
3. these are upward and downward/forward moves. the move 6 is a circle. It harmonizes the up and down moves.
4. move 7 is a horizontal movement of arms or to the left and right with the forward movement of the back/shoulder/hip. it can be a strike and throw.
5. move 8 is going downward and forward and close. if move 7 is dodged, you follow it with move 8 to the abdomen.

  • Ba Ji stresses close fighting, the closer the better. Ba Ji uses inch power a lot. even thou you may have big movements of the body, hands and feet and yet power generating is only at the very end and for a split/fraction of a second. therefore, when you land your feet, your move is over, too. and not landing feet first and then start the move.

  • there are 2 stepping methods. 1, bing bu/close steps 并步, it is coupled with stomping or zhen jiao 震脚 or duo zi jiao 跺子脚. 2, grinding step or nian zhen 碾震 when we forward one foot and land it. there is a complete outburst of power bao fa li 爆发力, and sinking downward 下沉劲, watch the feet, hand moves and the whole body closely. thanks

  • @Kormiku bullshit, so if my 2 year old is writing down what he thinks big bird is really saying on sesame street- then i shoud save it for anyonefollowing bigbird? what a joke, too funny

  • Ifully agree w Kormiku. I think northpine is

    GREAT allowing us this service!!!

  • He is making these videos for the study of baji, not as demonstrations of his skill. Whether or not he is good at performing the movements, he is cataloging everything for the rest of us who have no access to information such as movement names and intricate theory behind the movements. Sometimes a master who is really good at performing baji cant explain how it works, but Northpine does a wonderful job of explaining it clearly.

  • You should of done it faster, after the demonstration.

  • How are these "Ba Gua movements with the Ba Ji power generation methods"?

There is no Baji power in your demonstration.

Even if it was done fluently, your actual movements and 身法 are totally wrong/absent.

    This is NOT Baji.

but good intentions. keep practicing :)

  • Is he trying to memorize it?
