Shoot paratroopers with your cannon before they raid your buildings and destroy your cannon! This CGR review of Commando Raid for Atari 2600 has gameplay from this Atari VCS game cartridge showing game play in action as Commando Raid is played! Works with Atari joystick controllers and gets repetitive, but it's still fun and easy to find these days. Shoot helicopters and the occasional airplane as well. Score points, blast androids and eat oatmeal. Atari!

  • I like the sunset, I thing the VHS tape helps it blend in the colors.

That's always been the case, but not to such a huge extent. The market leader always gets a ton of shovelware - the PS1 did, the SNES did, obviously the Atari did, the PS2 had a TON of crap on it (review sections were often clogged up with 1 / 10 reviews for shovelware like chess games), the Wii has now.

I think the situation will get a bit better as digitial distribution takes off now.

  • @Melville10 use meat products for defenses with 900% veggies!

  • I always found it amazing that so many 3rd parties made games. Even Quaker Oats even had a "software division" back then!?! So did Purina pet food! (Chasae the ChuckwagonTHey say only "$" signs. Unfortunately it was those very same 3rd party software manufactures, flooding the market with, well...."crap", that basically caused the Video Game Crash of 83-84. I mean really! What the hell does a dog food Co. know about game make??? It's cool little trivia though.

  • ANDROIDS FUELED BY OATMEAL

The MOS 6507 is an 8 bit cpu.

  • looks pretty good for a 4 bit game
