Thanks for the teaching, your the best. I am one of the few teenage recorder players, im still novice but your lessons has helped me learn songs like star wars, its a shame how the recorder isn't given the credit it deserves.

How can a recorder accompany a song in a certain key if it doesn't have sharps or flats?

Hi,
I spent 1 term when I was 5 learing the recorder. Then last month 40 years later I found my old recorder. and thought, its time to learn to play! I have bought myself a tenor recorder which I love. I can't read music, so the only way I can play a tune is to download people playing and copying their playing but this is very slow. Is there anywhere (web sites) that has songs, which show the finger positions?
Any help would be greatly appreciated paulenville@aol.com

this is really easy
Wow, this is so confusing! In Belgium we don't use terms like: A B C D.. and whaterver there is. We just call our notes: do, re, mi, fa, sol, la , si... don't you guys use that at all?

@xXxNienkexXx It is interesting what other countries! We use solfege as a teaching tool but mostly for singing. Some places use movable do (where do is always the tonic note) and some use fixed do (where do is always middle C).

damn... I've played the recorder with the right hand on the top since I'm 6 years old and just rediscovered it. How can this affect me and my playing ( the fact that I'm still playing with the right hand on top !)
thanks

@RicaBert1995 The correct way is to use your left hand on the top. You can get away with RH on top until you start using both hands, and then it physically doesn't work because the pinky C hole is off to the right and only your right pinky can reach it!
