So I've got basically everything installed and configured how I want...and it works!!!

MediaPortal is a fantastic piece of software doing exactly what it is meant to do. All my shows are in the database with screenshots, descriptions etc

The EPG is 100% functional

I still have to install my LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD combo drive and get the Harmony remote doing everything properly but otherwise, it all works!

  • soundcard is a waste if all your doing is optical out passthrough, onboard does the same thing, wiothout the lights.

  • My reciever sucks at NTS so all NTS is done on card

  • Imagine gaming on this thing, I mean, you've got a graphics card. This thing is basically an Xbox with full internet access, cable capabilities and better hardware.

This god of a computer will serve you many years of entertainment. Great Job!

  • Nicely done web enabled entertainment unit. Dancing with the remote control, the touch screen and the software, I wonder if the big challenge is still having the average user navigate the learning curve on this thing?

Gaming?? A 2X SLI or Xfire arrangement, 0+1 SSD Raid array, and a JBOD NOS would push this nicely into the entertainment/gaming stratosphere. Throw in 2/3 3D enabled 28" Monitors and a 1080P DLP Unit for the big pIcture and you're all set.

  • is it woth getting if you live in Canada? with bell satalite

  • how much did all this cost you man?! and what do you do for a living? you're so lucky!!! =D

  • So how do you get the TV? Strictly through the tuner or through a service?

  • @REVHE4D thanks...u just answered a question I was wondering about.

BTW ZeeBOBNZ ...what is NTS stand for?

I want to buy a Pioneer A/V so i guess the on-board sound card.. optical out would suffice

    THUMBS UP dudes :D

  • you should upgrade to windows 7 it's faster and doesn't crash as much

  • what type of AV receiver using with sound card, i want to buy one for my creative elite pro...

  • What is good with a htpc?

  • I've been building computers for a while now and it never get's boring, every build just gets better and better. The best part is wen it's all together and all the parts are all working together as they should. Great job on your build, although as REVHE4D said, on-board optical is the same as a dedicated sound card, all the sound card is made for is converting blue-ray 5.1/7.1 into analog for direct output to pc speakers, primarily for gaming setups...
