you or whoever these people are need to get pictures and visual undeniable proof of the abuse. Then post those pictures along with every bit of personal info you can get on the abusers then paint it everywhere so that everyone knows to never even give them a goldfish.

Folks, this isn't only in the AQHA business. Cruelty for the sake of winning is happening in ALL horse disciplines. Tennessee Walking Horses are sored, Saddlebreds and Arabians are shocked or firecrackers are put in their stalls to make them firey in the ring...it's happening everywhere. IF YOU SEE CRUELTY, REPORT IT. It is not normal, and until we start speaking out against it, it won't change.

I currently own an ex-congress champion. Well that is what we were told. We have no actual history on this horse. Don't even know his real name. Our trainer found him at a trader and was told this horse was negleted after his owner couldn't take care of him. Anyway, we knew from his training that he had competed somewhere and won. Yesterday, we discovered something else. He has a blocked tail and it causes him intense pain. I so badly want to fix it but there is nothing we can do

Hello Folks.
There is a national outcry regarding AQHA's sanctioned abuse of Western Pleasure, Western Riding, Western Horsemanship classes. I have filed a formal criminal complaint with the Texas Attorney General against AQHA on the grounds of deceptive trade practices sanctioning horse abuse--email me--- spiritbridle@yahoo.com --- if you wish to furnish a signed affidavit regarding abuse you witnessed involving AQHA

My horse came back from a trainer with a broken right upper molar and the one next to it is cracked. He has a nerveous twitch now in his face, all the way from his nose to his eye. What on earth did they do to my poor horse?

God I hate people. I hope the very worst things happen to these abusers... I hope they rot in hell and suffer a lot before they ever get there. I hope they get long term cancer and have body parts cut off. I hope they die long, slow painful deaths.

@horsecrazybandgeek , There definitely ARE the incidents of electrocution (electrical cable plugged into a socket, other end cut off) and maybe not firecrackers, but startling a horse going into main-ring halter. Some trainers GOTTA have the "wide-eyed" (or is that "wild-eyed"?) look for main-ring halter! Saw it @ Scottsdale. It's EVERYWHERE, though - I have NEVER seen a breed, discipline or show of any importance that is totally free of this. Some people just need to win @ any price.

@horsecrazybandgeek i wont point fingers. there are problems with all disciplines and sports but we cant blame everyone especially if you have no idea what goes on in that specific arena. I know for a fact my horses have never seen abuse and are loved and spoiled rotten.

@katphoti i show on the arab circuit at the national level with my horses and have never seen anyone with firecrackers... ive seen plastic bags and what not to get the horse to trot big in the ring for halter mainly but that doesn't harm the horse just gets them excited. Ive seen whips over used and harsh bits and trainers but never firecrackers or anyone shocking their horses... yeah their are some trainers who have very questionable methods but unless i see it actually happen

@katphoti I am going to send u a message because I am limited to the amount of words to use in a comment.

@herewefly Okay, so answer this: if the horses are used to the firecrackers, then why does it "get them to really work?" Why use it at all if they are used to it? You have the same lame excuse as those who sore TWHs--they get used to the chains so it doesn't really hurt them. So why continue to use them? I hope you DO pack up and leave because your horse is being abused, and you should recognize that. Just because all the trainers do it doesn't mean it's okay.

I have NEVER saw this ginger in the tails happen, and if I ever was awar of that taking place to my horse I would pack my bags and leave. As 4 the firecracker these horses are used to it they arnt nessecarily scared of it, it just gets them to really work. We only ocasionaly use it during pratice.I have never been to a sales but those are desprete people who shock their horses and do crul things. I have never sen a horse get shocked. I LOVE my horse and would not stand 4 it to be mistreated
