Hex walker Robot Spider

From UWE (University of West England) Robotics course, a student built this rather amazing Hex spider.
Apparently it has 6 legs not 8 because, and get this, not because it was hard or complex or too many but because when it had 8 legs it was TOO much like a spider and scared people.

Inverse Kinematics etc ensure a nice fluid movement and it looks disturbingly natural, apparently part of what they were aiming for.

The legs are hand made using "Polymorph" the plastic you can shape yourself.

@siiiirDevil This robot came from UWE (University of the West of England) and was demoed at a Tech event in Bristol, I filmed it while show off my stuff at that event.

Its a custom built one off using hand made parts.

i am a playstation fan but wouldn´t it be nicer if it was a xbox controller?

and then put some green neon lights in the robot.
