  • how do you train them in recall because my husky is crap at it and need to learn it

  • @silverghost93 I didn't train him. When I took this video, he was already getting old and had arthritis, so he wouldn't go far. I would not trust my younger Huskies off leash.

  • where is that dog park?

  • Not a dog park, just an open space in our neighborhood park.

  • he looks huge, I thought a male husky was 45 - 60 lbs, he looks way over that, and he doesnt look really overwieght or anything, just really really big. do some breeders breed a large size husky?

  • He's about 80 lbs, maybe a little less now. Breed standard is 45-60 lbs, but he just kept growing. He's 27" at the shoulder.

  • My huskies were fine off leash at the park.

The problem was when they got out of the yard through some new ingenious escapade. Then, the chase and search was on.

  • I sure hope hes in an enclosed park.. if my husky saw a rabbit and the park wasnt enclosed I wouldnt see him for the rest of the day.. he'd be gone.. no recall in the world would get him to stop focusing on the rabbit and come back to me.

  • @silverghost93 Feed them something they LOVE from a potato chip bag - wrinkle the bag - let the dog hear the sound - so he associates the wrinkling sound with the food!!! When you want to call him - just wrinkle the bag!!!! Works everytime!!!! Mine escapes from a fenced in yard - but to call him back - I ALWAYS have potato chip bags in the garage - he comes like a shot!!!! I also say "Walkies" and he come quickly - because he leaned it is time for a walk on the leash - which he loves!!!

  • According to the AKC - of the top 50 breeds - in intelligance - Huskies rank #49 - they are made for work - not learning tricks!!!!!! The test: 1) How many iterations to learn a trick? (sit, heel) 2) How many tricks can they learn? 3) How long to they retain the trick!!! Huskies: about 20 iterations!! MAYBE 4 or 5!! less than 1 month!!! Boarder Collie (#1) usually 2 or 3, +50 easily, forever!!!!

  • @HenningCA

One question i see that you have old husky so i wana ask you one think. Are they scary dogs or they have some dose aggressiveness.

  • I was shure that huskies living only in Russia and Finland. Great to meet such huskie's fan in California!

  • Why some Huskies have big ears?

  • It will be two years I lost my sib. in Oct. He was like a son of mine. I never overcame his loss. He understood all we talked to him. The secret is to talk to the dog. Talk showing what you are talking about: food, action, toys, give name to everything and show them. They just get it. My dog had a huge vocabulary of comprehension. They are very inteligent and pretty much behave like a kid. Love this breed deeply. Miss my kid so very much. Brazil on line.

  • He was doing well for 11. Is he still alive?

  • @stonewall554 im assuming its half alaskan malamute which is similar to the siberian husky but twice its size
