I was shocked to see the picture of Left End in the line up, I was in a band back then called Back Road Blue, I was 17 we opened for Left End at a show at the Weirton Milsop Center. Wish I would have thought to have someone record it, or take some photos. Great seeing the bands again,

That was a great club. Back in the days before pictures were on drivers licences my two buddies and I would all get in on the same ID. Remember the licences in Ohio were pink for under 21 and blue for over 21? 3.2 beer?

The Alps was on Rt 82 in North Royalton, was called The Woods the Dick Smith and Wayne Weston (Jickey Zaar band) bought it, had it as The Atomic Alps they renamed it The Chateau West for a year or so then sold it to some glitter dude named Tom something who ran it into the ground and then burned it down for the insurance money.

There is a band from Alliance, Oh that should be a part of this. "Jimmy and The Soul Blazers" warmed up all the Motown acts at Canton's Memorial Auditorium in the 60's. They also did many shows with the Jaggerz at Geneva on the Lake. The gu;ys were up for a Motown contract which ended up going to Rare Earth. I later played with some of these guys and we opened up for Left End in Akron.

Left End was the most popular (except for maybe the Human Beinz before them) and my favorite. I also loved Menagerie, Blue Ash, Moose and Da Sharks, and George Wydell.
Other members of Merry Christmas were Mike Delaney and Billy Lohr. I was at the Newton Falls Community center the night Mike smashed his white Les Paul with the gold trim.
