NBT Thailand with a report about a Chulalongkorn Newspaper Exhibition

NBT is the government TV station in Thailand. The report you can see here is a report about an exhibition in Mae Joe University Chiang Mai. The end of october, in the year 2008 or 2551 (in Thailand) an exhibition was held, with newspapers, books and booklets dealing with the late Siamese Kings Rama 4 and Rama 5. The newspapers, books, booklets and magazines are very rare and the yare more than 100 to 150 years old. About 15.000 visitors have seen the exhibition in the library of the Mae Joe University. The exhibition was a cooperation between Professor Pattara (from Mae Joe University), Dr. Dirk Weeber-Arayatumsopon (PhD) (the owner of the collection) and Wuttipong Arayatumsopon. Dirk Weeber-Arayatumsopon and Wuttipong Arayatumsopon are the leaders of Thailandfreunde e.V. Human Rights Organization. This human rights organization has two sections. One is based in Germany, were the organization is officially registered, another one is existing in Thailand. The Thai section soon will be named Lanna Star Kids Foundation. Anyway - Dirk Weeber-Arayatumsopon and Wuttipong Arayatumsopon donated a newspaper (showing King Rama 5, Chulalongkorn, with his first wife on the title page) from the year 1893 to the library of the university. A totally unique present and donation. Dirk Weeber-Arayatumsopon told finally that he thinks about selling his collection soon. A smaller part of the money which will come in, will be used for the social circuumstances of the human rights organization Thailandfreunde e.V..
