Beck - Pink Moon

I remember I was feeling down as hell, so I smoked a fat Indica joint, listened to some Nick Drake/Beck and man was I feeling BETTER.

Life made more sense.

Big fan of Beck since Stereo; I can understand why Beck thinks he needed to cover Nick; but this is a poor effort. Nick's version is spectacular; a classic. Beck's: forgettable.

I, too, really like Beck but this is quite forgettable as you said...awful really.

I'm not really a fan of any of these covers, none of these really find their own voice. I want to say that says more about Nick Drake than Beck but, without getting too excited, I think these are just intended as fandom. I don't think they've even appeared on an album. But perhaps maybe, these covers could be used to speak to a Beck listener, and direct them to Nick Drake. And maybe they would do a good job of that. I know that was how I found out about Nick Drake, only a few years ago.

Ugh, can't stand Beck's mundane voice compared to Nick Drake's on this.

The original is way better. Faster.
