Oh man i cant even begin how much i love my 597. Me and that thing have gone through some pretty fun times.
Do not believe anybody that has negative thoughts of this gun. The only reason they dont like it is because they bought it when they made the crappy magazines. Mine has never had a single jam with any ammo except- Winchester Super HV hollow points and Remington Golden Bullet. The winchesters just plain out suck. 4-10 bullets usually jam and get ruined. So dont buy those.

Just got my 597 the other day and its so accurate I love how it handels and the trigger is nice and crisp. I just have the regular 597 but it still looks great with the gray stock. I put 500 rounds through it and didn't have one jam but then again I also don't do any rapid firing. I got 3 standard 10 round mags for it and a bushnell .22lr 3-9x32 power scope. I can get 1-1/2 inch groups at 100 yards. I couldn't do that with my savage 64 I'm happy I sold it.

@Jarhead484 Thats a pretty good price. I use CCI and federal. I've used rem. cyclones and didnt care for them much.

I bought that gun about 2 years ago, shot about 1,000 rounds and only had 2 jams. Good quality gun. I don't know about cheap though, with the scope I paid $250, you can find other .22's for less, but they lack quality. Nice video!

@mecostacounty ive put over 1,000 rounds through mine, but when i was using thunderbolt ammo it almost always jammed. havent had one jam with the federal ammo. you can get them new here with scope for only $130. i paid $100 used for mine and it has iron sights.

not really sure. my camera is pretty high quality, so it could just be picking up all the sound. plus we're shooting right behind a house.

Rock Mount bipod. they sell them at walmart for only $30 and they're almost identical to a harris for 1/3 the price.

how do u like your 597? im looking into getting one pretty soon.. need something for smaller game... cant waste .308 shells on birds and muskrats lol

i love it. i have almost 1000 rounds through it and it just keeps getting more accurate as i put more round through it. i would definately recommend getting one. plus, its cheap. and yeah, cant waste that .308, its expensive. cheapest ive bough it is 20 rds for $12.50 where i bought my rifle.
