So let me get this straight: KTRK had several different news sets for their newscasts:

1. The morning news had the downtown skyline looked different with Tom Koch, who's still there.

2. The Live at Five news set had the big "Live at Five" promo in front and the skyline behind it looked like the Galleria.

3. The 6pm and 10pm newscasts had close-ups of the downtown skyline, including the weekends.

There were two backgrounds used for the morning show. It would switch to the second for the final segment, when Don Nelson would tease what was on Good Morning Houston that day.

The Live at Five background is actually a montage of Downtown highrises.

The closeups were used for the Morning, 5:30, 6 & 10 PM newscasts though they were obviously several different images.

Well KPIX used it for news closes, but if KTRK should have used And You (Telesound) instead of KHOU, to will replace Cool Hand Luke, probably KHOU could end up using KHOU 1984 News Theme

@ktrkhoustonfan, this was from August 9, 1990 during KTRK's 5pm newscast and this was also when then-Houston Mayor Kathy Whitmire (D) was serving her 5th and final 2-year term.
