U misunderstood my last sentence, friend. It was a pun. To probate a will (legal document of inheritance [which the Bible is]) is to contest it. To re-probate the Will & Testament of God is to contest it twice.
The topic in question (whether the seed of a man is promised Salvation in Acts 16) is clearly affirmed by the text & the Greek. And was claimed by the Holy Spirit for a man who experienced its fruition. I've learned to obey the Voice of the Lord 1st, & seek rationales after. Bless U

We must look at the full Bible (the final authority) on a topic. Even your last sentence is contradicted by 2Pet3:9 "not willing that any should perish". It isn't God's "Will" that some will deny him and thereby choose to go to hell, but they do, much to his sadness. The Bible gives many examples of prayer. Maybe another was praying for this son to choose Christ? Search Greg's site "Stand to reason" for the 25 page PDF "Never Read a Bible Verse" for more thorough study. God bless you.

"When the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle." So in the case of that verse, it is a promise to whosoever. But it regards a father rather than a mother, for the man is the head, that is, covering---as we are covered by our Head, Christ.
The promises of God are your birthright. Who would try to defraud U of your inheritance? Heirs are challenged on the grounds of paternity or matrimony. You are the child of God & the Bride of Christ. Only a re-probate mind contests the Will of God.

Well, I was busy agreeing w/ him till he told the Acts 16 story. 4 years ago, the father of a friend asked me to pray for his son who was on drugs. I had never heard or thought this b4, but I said, "I don't have to pray for him because he is covered under U according to the passage in Acts where Paul & Silas are in jail." He asked me where it was, but I had no answer.
A week later, his son received Jesus & instantly was delivered from drugs. 3 weeks later, his son had an aneurysm & died....

This is why the bible must be read in the fullness of the Holy Catholic Church

Fantastic! got to try that jumping verse method. Sounds like a way to get around all sorts of things I know I shouldn't be doing...
Seriously - how can people do that?
where is the rest of this?
