ArchaelogistPhil hasn't even spelled "Archaeologist" in his handle correctly! Anyway, these videos are not about the evil rulers of the Shang dynasty--it is about the events of ancient history being incorporated as the Chinese scribes sought to symbolize ideas and actions. Overtime, and especially because of human pride to control, the Shang dictators did whatever evil they pleased. Its like the word, "Christmas;" its about celebrating Jesus' coming, but to many today, its about receiving gifts.

This kcpau9 guy below has a wrong interpretation for 惡, but especially in attributing evil to the Holy Spirit. Jesus spoke to such people: "Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." Jesus said this because they were saying that He has an evil spirit” - Mark 3:29-30. That character 惡 btw, is made of "deformed" (multiple twisted lines) over "heart", which together means "evil"; certainly, any person mocking God's goodness has an evil bend.

Everyone is a slave to something! Mockers pull verses out of the Old Testament, but only the Son of God provides answers to the meaning of life. The Lord Jesus said, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” John 8:36. “Don’t let being a slave worry you! If a slave when the Lord called you, you are now free in the Lord. If free when the Lord called you, you are now a slave of Christ. God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.” 1Corinthian 7:21-23.

@LegendKnight93 The 告 reference in not "able to talk," it actually states "(able to) talk"; it could have been "(able to) tell." The point is: God "tells," and so can His creation. Some people see the connection between certain Chinese characters and Bible history. However, others reject the Bible and dispute anything that bridges the gap of human reason and faith. Ultimately, if we don't humble ourselves toward the Bible, then we only have a woeful eternity confronting us (Matthew 25:31-46).

@invincibletom 聖 is the single-character religious form of "saint" in Chinese (also in Japanese and Korean, but rarely used alone). It can also mean: holy, sage, master, or priest. This character is often used in compound words to create further meanings. In compounds, it can mean holy, sacred or divine. It is also used for Holy Bible, Holy Land, and priesthood.

This character is also used as the first word for Spanish and English place names such as "San Diego" and "St. Louis" in Chinese

Considering your vitriolic posts: You called your couple interpretations as "reasoning and logic", declared my whole video as "falsehood", and insinuated that everyone not like you as "ignorant". You called me a "terrorist," a "fanatic", an "idiot", and a "dictator". When you take a small sample out of thousands of characters, another small sample out of thousands of verses in the Bible, and try to use analysis that ignore basic etymology, you can just about prove anything you want. How about this one. The character 惡 (evil) is made up of one stroke on the top representing God, one at the bottom representing the Holy Spirit, and a cross representing Jesus. So the ancient Chinese knew that putting them on your heart means "evil".

@idster It has nothing to do with rejecting the bible or not. If it's unsupported by any evidence then it's just plain false. Now you flip flop between meanings of 告. Well you could "see" there is a connection but it certainly no proof there is. Assertion is not proof, far from it.

Would you like to talk about human reason and faith? How about your God condones slavery (Leviticus 25:44-46 and Exodus 21:7-11)? How do you bridge this gap? Did human reason conclude slavery is a good thing?

@LegendKnight93 While I'm here let me debunk another thing on this 造 interpretation (yes, it's even worse). The translation used here on the left part of 造 = 告 is "able to talk" which is absolutely bollocks. The correct translation is:

1. tell, announce, inform

2. accuse

@LegendKnight93 You could ask this at any institute with Chinese experts . But you don't even have to. There are plenty books on ancient Chinese characters. You could even do a Google search on Oracle Bone, Great seal, lesser seal etc you can see that modern Chinese characters (the ones are used here) are immensely different from ancient ones.
