Karen Anne Carpenter (March 2, 1950 -- February 4, 1983) was an American singer and drummer. She and her brother, Richard, formed the 1970s duo The Carpenters. She suffered from anorexia nervosa, a little known disease at the time, and died at the age of 32 from heart failure......

  • Great voice! Wonderful song!

    But what I miss is the typical Carpenters polyphony that created Karen and Richard by multi-dubbing in the studio. Live that worked only limited. ABBA found a way to create on stage a similar sound as in the studio with a background choir. Here that does not work, because the Carpenters harmonies was different.

    Additionally I want to say that I like Karen Carpenter's voice most and the Carpenters harmonies send me directly to heaven!
