sorry to correct you, but there is a typo your german text.

"Näglein" means "nails" which wouldn't be very comfortable for the child. The original word is "Nelklein" which means "little carnations" (flowers). btw. carnations, like roses, are a symbole für Love also a red carnation was a symbol for resistence.

Näglein also means Nelklein. In Switzerland we say Näglein or Nägeli and we do not mean Nails when we say it. It`s a dialekt. And I have never heard somebody sing: Nelklein...
