OK, the dumbest thing about this "who is better" argument is that Elliott Smith basically wouldn't have existed in the same way if the Beatles or Dylan hadn't existed. So not only is it purely subjective, but it doesn't acknowledge the spheres of influence that made ES who he was. On the other hand, I doubt Elliott influenced musicians from the 60's very much.

I prefer Elliott over any of them. He is never overly repetitive the way i've felt the beatles or dylan to be, and there isn't a single track of his off anything that he's released that'd I'd skip, and i can't say the same for dylan or the beatles.

I see what you mean. I'll just keep it short and say i prefer him over the beatles and dylan. All three of them had very different things in their music going on though
