The song written by Peggy Seeger and Ewan McColl about the mining disater in 1958 at Springhill. This is my small tribute the those brave souls who worked and died underground. A special mention should be made for the courageous resuce workers who will enter an unstable mine to aid their trapped collegues.

  • Cheers from Springill <3

  • Thank you - excellent version.

  • Very nicely done!

  • Nice! It's interesting to see old pictures of the town!

  • The best version is the Dubliner´s though

  • I first heard this song in the 70's on an album of my mom's called the Jubilee singers of Nova Scotia. In my opinion that is the best version I've ever heard. I agree that this is the best version currently on You tube, but please, please if anyone has the version I've mentioned please post it!!!

  • This is the best version about Springhill's Disaster on the site so far.

  • Good work ~you've captured it, much better than U2's crappy attempt!

  • Excellent.5 stars

  • Great recording Roger,Made me think what life would have been like for my own dad.
