We never had, and may never have her like again. Kanan Devi was a real Devi of music. Thanks to Youtube I AM HEARING HER SONGS AFTER DECADES . I am her fan since I, as a child heard her in 1942-3 on radio (film "jawab"). Over the next 70 years I may have listened to her , perhaps , not more than a dozen times. And now for the past 6 months I am proud owner of a computer (I call it nostalgium) and listen to the DEVI every day. My best regards to YOUTUBE and the friends that upload the songs.

Kanan's voice is remarkably sound and clear even hearing on a headphone. So clear and so much full of her breath. I wish there will be some science to revive a quality of a person from his/her breath recorded years ago, just as Jerasik Park revived the ancient predators.
Koi Samajave is just a beautiful song from Kanan Devi..thanks for posting.

@musiman0124 I don't think anyone has the right to say that so and so is better than so and so. Saigal sahab and Kanandevi ji have to graced the muisc world and we should thank our 'stars' that we are able to hear their recordings even today.

Appreciate what you found out speaking with her of the modern day music, etc. and her whereabouts over the years...thanks

@dkapasi4 Kanan devi did not die thirty years ago.I MET her 30 years ago on 4th sept 1980 to be exact! She passd away in july 1992. on the 17th if I am not mistaken.
And she still lives in my heart and on my computer hard drive. my million pranams to her and Rai Da.

Kanan Devi is an endless universe of divinity by herself.The question of her being better than so-and-so doesn't arise. It doesn't get more perfect than this! R C Boral is a magician and Kanan devi was created by the almighty to sing his magical melodies!
