Thanks for watching, and please enjoy in high quality. I present to you these Smash 1v1 combo highlights of my Melee recordings, produced as my entry for the announced official smashboards.com combo video competition contest (submission ID # 181). My goal is to provide a great video chalk-full of entertaining, inspiring, delightful, and/or intriguing clips for the enjoyment of you and your friends, and to promote smashboards.com as the epicenter of all that is smash. This video isn't just for the smash elite, it's for everyone, just like smashboards.
Admitted limitations of my entry (for better or worse): • limited editing & special effects (created with Movie Maker) • limited to just Melee (haven't recorded Brawl lately) • limited regionally (generally Atlantic south) • limited character representation (based on players recorded) • limited to tournament scene (no items, neutral stages, one-on-ones, no CPUs) • limited to freely shared music (specifically Newgrounds.com)
But no Johns. In considering the above, I still hope to win the contest by providing a straightforward, high-quality combo video from what I've recorded for the enjoyment of all, as hopefully would be expected from my best efforts. I used no strats, just editing as hard as I could.
Video clips herein were all recorded by me in Florida (as well as California for GENESIS). Excepting tournament matches I've posted, none of these clips have been seen elsewhere until now (especially not in any montage / compilation videos). I have culled these clips together from the 129.2 hours of footage I've recorded in 194 video files across 51 days sprinkled between 4/17/09 and 10/18/09, originally totaling 106 gigabytes in raw uncompressed form. Arguably one of the hardest parts of this video was getting it to only 10 minutes.
Recorded directly with Dazzle DVD Recorder (DVC100), and edited in Windows XP Movie Maker 5.1 by yours truly (phanna); this is the 12th video and pinnacle of my 2009 SSBM chronicles (but does not mark the end of the series). Featuring 38 known players, in order of first appearance: phanna, ÜberIce, Vordoc, DaShizWiz, N2K9, Smilez, Rohins, xXx_Noobking_xXx, Colbol, Johnny, Steven, SamusAran-X-, Ardonite, Uuaa, Lambchops, RockCrock, Green Mario, Ballistics, Pr0jecT, Hungrybox, BluntedObject10, DJ Nintendo, Scar, Action B@stard, Nicaboy, Dark Sonic, S0ft, PBnJ, QueenDVS, Moses, Linguini, Garbanzo, harriettheguy, Captain Crunch, Blade of Apollo, Renth, Raistlin, & cHiNaHoP.
Special thanks to Smashboards.com for hosting this contest, to Nintendo for their peerlessly enjoyable games such as Smash, to the Smash community for their fellowship and gameplay challenge, to the audio artists at Newgrounds.com for creating and sharing their work, to my family and friends for their encouragement and support, and to you for your patronage, time, and feedback!

I like brawl more than melee, but sometimes I just wish they didn't change the game physics =/ Hopefully when the next one comes out, it will be a fighter fan making it
