Anne Lewis of City Wildlife participated in a panel focused on wildlife in the District of Columbia and the challenges and benefits of figuring out how to share our city with deer, geese and other creatures. She was joined by John Hadidian of the Humane Society of the U.S. and DC Council-member Mary Cheh. Anne talked about her new non-profit organization working to set up the District's very own wild animal sanctuary. This sanctuary would help treat injured wildlife in the District and start building a network of wildlife care givers. This DC Environmental Network event was designed to start a conversation with the broader environmental community about the humane treatment of wildlife in the urban setting and hopefully result in better designed policies and programs in the District.
