Part 2 — At Interesting Vancouver 2010, Lisa Salazar shared how she was finally able to reconcile her faith with the medical condition she was diagnosed with. She explains how for years she took one passage of scripture out of context in an attempt to make some sense of her struggle with gender dysphoria. It was only after she came to understand what Jesus taught his disciples about eunuchs as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew (19:1-12), where the discussion was actually about divorce and marriage, that she felt she had permission to make the hard choice to transition and begin the process of transforming her body medically from male to female.
