  • the slide would have been held open at the end of the first clip? therefore you wouldnt have to rack it just drop the slide instead.

  • @TBear92 Yeah, but all kinds of stuff can happen in the field. The slide hold open feature could get bumped off accidentally, or may not work due to grit or a mechanical failure.

  • The Springfield Mil-Spec stainless you have is probably one of the most beautiful 1911s on the market. Take good care of it! :)

  • @mr00jimbo Oh, I will. But, this gun is so durable I don't think I'll have to try very hard. LOL!

  • Great overview! lots of good info I had not heard in other reviews.

  • @merkury06 Thanks for watching!

  • thanks for the video, i just purchased this exact pistol.

  • Very nice. I just ordered one today. Have fun with it.

  • I just love the mil-spec look of the 1911 over modern.

  • Thank you for this video. This will be my first 1911 (the parkerized version). All I wanted was a step up from the GI model... especially the sights. I'm not too fond of all the bells and whistles you find you these higher end 1911s, like skeletonized trigger/hammer/ all that jazz.... awesome though, thank you again

  • @1v1oCODoStatus I'm not going to say ALL pistols have rifled barrels, because I'm sure their are exceptions... but this gun, and the majority of other pistols have rifled barrels..., so no. But there would be no need for "rifling a pistol" because, like I said, the barrel already has rifling.

  • Would Rifling a pistol ruin it?

  • Great video. On the series 80 system vs the 70, and the more a trigger has to do, I would say that a trigger job on a series 80 yielding 3.5# or a series 70 yielding a 3.5# trigger pull, is just that, 3.5#. Many gunsmiths have achieved great trigger jobs on series 80 pistols. Now the safety factor, that's a different story. Great discussion!

  • for anyone who doesn't know...if you have a hard primer you can just cock the hammer. you don't have to rack the slide.

  • I want that chair!

  • You might have the gun with none in the chamber and a loaded mag installed. It is not a good idea to carry with one in the chamber or it could accidently go off. Something might happen where you need to rack the slide one handed such as someone suddenly trying to take the gun away and one hand is tied up trying to keep them back. Not speaking from experience or as an expert, just repeating what some, so called experts, have said including law enforcement trainers.
