Tigger and Me Drafting..We went to the back of the camp to try and peal off a beast to work, but the whole mob went to the front of the camp ..we tried to let the others slip past and keep our selected beast to the front. You can't change once you select a beast, but they were sticky and Tig was getting frustrated.. I felt her loose concentration and go flat just as our beast made a break for the back .. He slipped past.. Lost points..we got him again this time clean. blocked him a couple of times and called for the gate to be opened. Tig put in a good effort on the last deep block. Out the gate we went, but the beast bolted and we couldn't turn it.. so we got cracked off... lost beast!!! better luck next time!!!

  • Is that Darcy Twohills mare Tulsa by any chance? looks just like her!

  • Nope its my little mare, Tigger.. :-)

  • Nice horse and nice try.

Your horse hasn't got much bend in it, when you lost the beast the first time all he wanted to do is go toward the beast rather than arch out away from it but still block it.

Doesn't help you have the worst breed of cattle to work with lol!

  • Your right Echo. Tig is very stiff. She really can work cattle but she get very impatient. She can do much better than this but this is the only one I have on tape and wanted my friends in the USA to see it..

I could have got some nice black cattle LOL

  • good try nice horse though! i just started camp drafting and i can see how people get addicted!! bit ofa pain when they dont want to seperate heey! when i pick my beast i try to go for the one paying the most attention to you and not worrying about the other cattle usually they are the good ones and just roll right off for you!

  • Lol no worries, atleast you new. She looks like she has the talent there, but like you said I can see she was getting rather annoyed and just wanted to work!

  • your horse knows whats going on...just keep off her mouth and let her do the work. very cowy horse! well done.

  • Nice Horse. Need Practise Keep the good work Up :)

  • i can tell you haven't done too much of this... when cattle are sticky like that, step up a bit and put some pressure on them... they'll split up... secondly, keep your horses head square to the cattle... otherwise your pulling their head out of the circle and they will beat you down the fence every time... just a bit of advice... your horse really wants to work...

  • Hey nice horse .. they look like charlais steers

those mongrels didnt wanna seperate :)
