This is a rare look into the rehearsal for the album Red Snapper CBS & RCA studios. Freely improvised sessions. This album was originally released privately with small distribution. The CD is now available from Cadence Jazz records. Jimmy Lyons-Alto Sax, Paul Murphy-Percussion, Mary Anne Driscoll-Piano & Vocals, Karen Borca-Bassoon and John Coltrane's world famous trumpet player (from his profoundly momentous 'Ascension' recording)Dewey Johnson!

  • Well, gave me a headache.

  • The word that comes to mind is... intense! No it's not "pretty" or "catchy" but it is pure emotion which in real life is not always pretty. Many people are uncomfortable with intense emotions expressed in other ways too.

  • Is your camera as good as your music?

  • great thank you for sharing

  • Amazing stuff! Great to hear and see Dewey Johnson! Only heard him on Ascension! Those who don't get this stuff it's all good but some of us can get our heads around polyrhythms and polytonality! It's a logical progression in for imo!
