TanDao's Lawrence Tan wrote and directed this video in '82, working with Wong Shun Leung for a year. Wing Chun theory forms the basis of Tandao and we continue to create videos today. Visit us: http://www.tandao.com

Although Yip Man is Bruce Lee's formal master in Wing Chun, it is Wong Shun Leung who actually taught Lee Wing Chun. Learn more about Wong Shun Leung: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wong_Shun_Leung

  • Yes, Both are southern Chinese styles characterized by close quarter trapping or sticky hand strikes. Both employ low kicks to the knees and shin. Wing Chun uses punches while mantis employs more finger and open hand strikes. TanDao animal combat shares similar strategy but utilizes tiger claw, leopard paw and snake fangs and crane beaks.

  • 3:58 Crane and fox??

    not snake and crane?

  • @rumtook You are very observant. The animal that the crane was spied fighting changes according to the storyteller's rendition -- from snake, to fox, to gorilla. The constant is the crane and it's ability to defend itself.

    Thanks for writing.

  • Wrists should be flexible but don't over stretch joints.

  • Thi sis how i want my Wing Chun to look like.

  • Great video. Very helpful. As far as the two guys at the begining of the veideo they have been identified as Bruce Lee's kids brothers, Chip and Emile.

  • @1banryukyu Ref: 1st World Kyokushin Tournament "Fighting Black Kings"

There was one technique at the start of this video that was a Shuto or a knifehand strike to the neck. Oh, thank you for posting this video it helped me to understand Wing Chun a little more. Osu

  • I would like to first state I respect all art forms, but my question is I have watch the 1st Kyokushin world tournament and there was a fighter from Hong Kong who fought in it. Many Wing Chun fighters say in their reply to the video that if they can not hit to the face it is taken a way their key techniques. At the start of this video, the two fighters never hit each other to the face but did very nice techniques. Could some one watch "fighting black kings" and tell me what they think. Osu

  • Although the instructional video is covering only the very basics, they are the most fundamental parts of Wing Chun.

  • @workh4rd where ever you are located and there tried to find out who is teaching the wing Chung style !

  • Where can I find someone to teach me? Thanks for uploading!

  • Wow!
