The Saturn V was a good rocket. Why don't use it as the basic part of a new generation of rockets?

this is ridiculous. I believe most of us expect a heavy lift launch vehicle that's significantly more capable (and technologically advanced) than the Saturn V.
Its been 42 years NASA, surely you can do better.

Respond to this video... The 60's hardware both Apollo and Gemini were much better rocket hardware and actually more advanced. Shuttle had better computers and software but that was it. 60's rockets actually had crew escape systems and NEVER used solid rocket fuel which was a big mistake.

es, star trek fans.... seriously, ive seen the rockets and frankly, everyone does rockets, dont we all want something new? what happened to all the advancements and ideas we've been hearing about?

@spacedog2002 propulsion technologies have hit the wall for long time, rocket is the only viable option, true and sad.
NASA you can do better than a rocket with liquid hydrogen and oxygen fuel! We are American and move forward not going back in time.
