Tales from the Okefenokee was a dark ride at Six Flags Over Georgia from 1967 - 1980. This second version of the ride began in 1968 and features the critters from Joel Chandler Harris' Uncle Remus stories.

That ride used to scare me to death when I was little! I think I kept my eyes closed most of the way through! lol

The Monster Plantation was 'improved' in 2009, but it didnt' change names or even features. The park hyped up the improvements, which were embellished after experiencing the ride for yourself. Nothing had changed with the exception of a new photo cam feature and practically all of the characters were now working as opposed to the 80% or so in previous years. Basically, the improvements should have been made all along since the ride's inception, not just a big PR campaign to renew its recognition

Obviously this ride was a cute family ride, but the way this old footage is edited together, and the odd discordant music, makes it rather creepy.

Thanks for the video,i rode this when i was a kid ,then when i work there in 1980 they turned it into the monster plantation,now its changed again this year .

talk about erie and creepy sh*t!!! I wonder how many small children lost thier souls on this ride! And DAMN! those freakn carrots! scarry scarry!!!!!
