To me, the video is a metaphor their destructive relationship, and through their struggles they never admit to the faults in their relationship (2:30 he tries to 'cover up' the blood seeping from his abdomen). In the end neither person is really there for the other (the boy dies), and neither asks for help or offers help (the girl never notices him).
