  • I feel like saying: JCL4EVER!

  • hey whats the best way to keep the water warm consistently?

  • @TEMPO690 I use JBJ aquarium heaters (as discussed in the blog post). One of them is 1000 watts and the other is 500 watts. You must know the wattage capacity of your house... My mobile home is wired for 15amps ...modern houses might be 20amps so you could use more wattage there. Also dont forget your GFCI. And you can use bubble wrap to insulate the water if you dont float every day. And dont put in salt until the water is 93 degrees, preferably much hotter for loading salt.

  • Hey guys, we just completed our first tank and have uploaded a video of someone's first experience. Because of the flood of questions we've been getting asked we will be uploading a DETAILED video on how to make a legit (commercial quality, estimated value of $14,000...) float tank for under 2,000. Stay tuned for more :D

  • @depthandhumor be sure to post a video reply :)

  • well what are the actuall plans you never gave any specifics

  • @TranshumanCyborg you're welcome. I think the video could be more informative... the blog post (listed in the description of this video) should cover the construction details... I dont know if I've mentioned the drawer guides (glides) that are now being used to move the top back and forth --- so I dont have to use sticks to prop up the top. I'll update the blog post now.

feel free to ask any questions. room heat is another important factor when only heating the water between floats.

  • @LDR929 yes, one side is hinged. at the link in the description (youtube blocks links in comments) there is a picture of that. You just drill holes in the plastic lip and use plastic cinches to secure the top to the bottom. Yes someone on our mailing list mentioned Pneumatic car hatch lifters but I couldnt find any on the internet.

  • @LDR929 thank you. glad to keep in touch! I live right next to the main road in my community but oddly enough I dont hear the cars go by and it's just 25 feet away. Dogs I think would pose even less of a problem. Marine-grade epoxy would provide even more insulation. But I think dogs would make a fun bridge between inner and outer reality. I will never forget the one time I was in a dream and a house caught on fire outside and I started mixing my dream with the smoke filling my lungs.odd but fun
