Hi purple, hope you are healed by now. Now I have shingles (self diagnosed). Not as extensive as your, but it wraps in a band from my breast bone around my left side to my spine. It's been a week since it began and it now seems to be going away. now it looks like a band of little red star bursts. It looks like it should itch but it doesn't. It just sort of hurts. Ugh. take care.

That is a bad breakout, I am sorry you get them like that. I get them on my face every month and the only thing that helps besides pain medicine is the viral inhibitor. You can find out about it at shinglestreatmentstoredotcom. I know what you are talking about when you say its bullshit that the vaccine is only for people 60 and up. I am 30 years old and have had it for 8 years now, I wish that I could have recieved the vaccine years ago. Hope you feel better.

I'm sorry you had this, yeah I had shingles like 3 or 4 in my life the first time I thought someone stuck a knife in my ribs, so I rolled out of bed at 4am and drove to hospital to find out what it was. the rash has never got too big no more than 4 inches in diameter but the pain has varied from hurting like hell the first time too just being uncomfortable to lay on couch. the doctor gave me VALTREX herpi med. it goes away in like a week of taking. the trick is catch it before the rash shows.

at least you have a good roof over your head just kidding...believe me I KNOW what neurological illnesses are about..I had shingles..and now I have syringomyelia of the spine..a very painful spinal condition so I know where you're coming from when you talk about pain and unfairness in the medical community!!! (by the way..you're so cute!)

I had shingles when I was 7...weird...only usually old elderly people get it  being a neurological condition

Go to Mercola.com. He has articles that discuss Shingles Vaccine and chicken pox vaccine increasing chances of shingles. Why they use 60 as the cut off, and some doctors using off brand at 50. Bad stuff, your stressing too much, you've been overdoing it.

Vaccines are bad news period, fear tactics used to sell them, moneymakers for drug companies.

@purplelirpa yep it is i had a small rash compared to hers but it hurts like hell. Even after the initial infection you can still get pain after shingles. The virus stays in your body even after you had it. Like most herpes viruses they can come back

wow that shingles is very severe i had mines but not as severe but still very painful
