This video made me get off my ass and start gardening last march! Went from one crapy bed to five full beds! Now I have built two more small beds and I'm makeshifting a few into hoop houses! Love it all TY

If GMO corn is dangerous to rats... we should send a heavy dose of it to Washington. Anyway, as far as I know, if I wish to buy a veg at the grocery store, I would look for product numbers that do not start with 8. If it does start with 8, it is a GMO. I've seen these product numbers in stores. Are you saying that those products are not GMO? I think they are... As for seeds, I agree.

Thanks Jack!! That is very good info!!

@survivalpodcasting were'd you get that shirt?

@tmzrox - Nothing picky there, seeds have certain rules of storage the colder, drier and darker the longer they remain viable. The USDA number an environment of say 70 degrees average. Drop the storage temp to say 30 degrees and the viability time line increases. Viability is based on germination rates, generally the USDA wants 80% or higher so even very long term the seeds are not bad the rate just falls. Say to 50% which when you have 37,000 = 18,500 viable ones. Make sense?

Great review. Thanks, Jack. I'm guessing the previous commentor didn't watch the whole video as you make some of his points for him. Great value for what it is.
Without the knowledge of how to save seed something like this is only good for one grow out. Does this include seed saving instructions? I know that is somethign I still need to learn.

@jtcweb1 - Yes there is a basic guide that includes growing and saving information for all varieties included but listen to my show today (episode 614) and google "international seed savers institute" between that you will have all you need to know.

I may have used language that could be mis understood as too strong, to devalue the product. If so fair enough in your comments. I understand where you are coming from. My experience though is many people tend to "rely" on it and think they are "set", just like some who get into food storage and never rotate or use it and then wonder why everything expires. I just fear a similar thing with this, rather then rotating your own seeds. But your point is valid, I hope u see mine

@graythman - Fair enough but if you watched the video you know I covered this extensively in the video.

I base this on my own experience. like you said alot of this will cross pollinate. Each plant is different. Yes you are right if I was to price out all the varieties and buy them the price will be comparable.
My point is someone is better off to start with 5 or 6 varieties, learn how to harvest and save those seeds each plant is unique, then extend into other varieties eventually making your own seed bank. Once I have the seeds and knowledge the price to make my own seed bank ZERO.

@graythman - So claiming it is a rip off is based on the fact that you can save your own seeds? Not the price and what is delivered? There is nothing wrong with wanting less variety and less quantity but claiming someone selling something at a very fair market rate is committing a "rip off" is total bullshit A bank like this is not a end all be all but I consider say 100 bucks to short cut 3-4 years of work a deal. What is a year worth to you?
