I closed my door after being mesmerized by the boy that stood by the doorframe. I took a deep breath, searching for my blackberry bold. Reaching over, I grabbed the hot pink, gel covered phone that contained so many memories, and turned the brass door knob of my door again. I opened it, hoping to see the boy who had purple and white Supra's and sandy brown hair still waiting there by the doorway. I looked around, only to see the two of them disappeared. Slowly, I took a step forward walking down the creaky, wooden staircase, hoping not to make a lot of noise, but the exact opposite happened, making it sound like a herd of animals ran down the stairs.
I heard people chatting, then that deep, husky voice of his filled my eardrums. I slowly walked over to where everyone was sitting down in chairs, laughing and eating huge plates covered in chicken, corn, and other various types of delicious foods. Obviously they didn't realize I was awkwardly standing there, waiting for someone to say my name. I gently cleared my throat and all heads turned to me and the loud obnoxious conversations immediately stopped.
"Haley." My mom said, her lips turning into sweet smile.
Justin's eyes immediately turned to me. He looked me up and down, and flashed me a smile.
"Hi, Mom." I said, trying to stop my legs from turning into jello.
"Come take a seat." She replied, a smile still glued onto her face.
My eyes darted around the table looking for an empty seat. Surprisingly, the only seat open was next to Justin.
I walked over to the wooden chair, sliding it out from the table. I sat down, still feeling awkward as ever, taking my phone out and placing it on the mahogany table that matched the chairs. I felt him starring at me again. Those hazel-nut orbs burning a hole through the side of my face. He finally reached out his hand in front of me.
"Hey, I'm Justin." He said, still smiling.
I turned to face him. He was even more gorgeous up close. I looked at his face, inspecting ever little inch of it. His little summer freckles toppled over on his nose. His lips, perfectly plump, and his carmel skin was glowing like the radiant sun in the horizon. Everything about him said 'perfection'. I was mesmerized by the chestnut, almond shape eyes that starred so intently into mine.
"I'm Haley." I smiled back, shaking his strong, muscular hand, feeling a little insecure next to the angel that sat next to me.
"I've heard a lot about you." He finally blurted out.
I let out an awkward laugh. "Oh great."
"Don't worry," He grinned. "They were all good things."
His voice echoed inside my eardrums, sending shivers down my fragile spine. I smiled back and turned to my plate full of food, ending the conversation. I couldn't help but notice Justin starring at me again. From the corner of my eye, I looked down, seeing my sister and him holding hands under the table. His thumb, lightly brushing against the bottom of her thumb. I couldn't help but feel a rush of jealousy overcome me.
