I just saw the Yankee Lady this summer at an airshow near Minneapolis (Flying Cloud Airport). The B-17 is my favorite plane and this was a beautiful example. Sadly, the number one engine stalled out on the runway and she was grounded for the day.

@skeligandrew it was a sad day for that aircraft. thankfully no one got hurt and we still have flyable b17's, i hope that never happens again. we cannot afford to loose another piece of history and living artwork

-
@BearUrsus Gonna get to[ ride in her this summer up in Michigan for $400. Can't wait

@adauto3000 back in WWII i guess i would agree, however today when no longer flown in combat they are quite safe. even in combat they were rugged aircraft that would take ALLOT of damage and bring the crew home safety.

I rode in the B-17 "Yankee Lady" two years ago at WWII Weekend in Reading PA. You could also ride in a Mitchell B-25, a Steerman, and an SBD Dauntless. The B-17 is a chunk of change ($350 when I went. Now up to $425) But well worth the ride.
