There is no field collapsing there.
The greatest come-from-behind victory I've ever seen in horseracing. I think Calvin "Bo-rail" and Mine That Bird did a fantastic job.

Sometimes a horse just "declares" himself, and catches everyone by surprise. No one, not the jockey, not the trainer, not the handicappers, no one suspects what greatness is lurking in the depths of the horse. The horse simply takes over, has its way, gets its chance to really run, and does. This is what has happened here. The jockey charted the course, but the horse ran the race, and took the jockey along for the ride. Calvin Borel did not win this race. Mine That Bird won it.
