Richard Armitage, You've Stolen Our Hearts

As the wonderful lolilie said of Gisborne after the finale of Robin Hood: "The third series has been a revelation (for me). He started off as the boo-hiss baddie again, but because Richard is just that awesome, he kept it real and brought a fabulous arc to his character."

That is exactly how I felt about this series. I would not have stuck with it at all if it wasn't for Guy's redemption story arc, and it got me to thinking of just how much Richard Armitage has revolutionized this series--brought it depth even when it seemed determined to have none. The very fact that many fans seem more on Guy's side than Robin's speaks volumes, and even if you're a devoted fan of Robin and Jonas Armstrong, you can't deny that Gisborne made an excellent baddie and an even more excellent ally.

This is a tribute to all of those moments we loved--both the sadistic and sweet, the dark and hilarious. Personally, I started out hating Guy's character, and he won me over very gradually. This is a tribute to Richard Armitage, who may not know how glad we are that he stuck with this show for as long as he did. As much as I love the other actors--namely Gordon Kennedy, Sam Troughton, Joe Armstrong, and that master of comedy, Keith Allen--it was Richard Armitage who made the show for me.

Admittedly, I am one to cry in movies--but the death of Guy was almost like losing someone I know. He didn't have to steal my heart--I would have donated it gladly!

Amazing, hear-touching story of how a man made evil by fate used his last moments to redeem himself. Who would've thought in the start of season 1 that this guy would end up such an amazing fellow?

Wow... Great video. I really hate to admit it but I really love Guy and watching his character grow from Season 1 to Season 3 was worth to watch. But it nearly killed me when Guy died.

Guy of Gisbourne was the BEST character in this fucking awesome TV Series. Started off as an evil Sherrif's henchman, killing people who got in his way and acting like a jerk and even attempting to kill King Richard. fell in love with Marian and did a FEW good things for her. The when Marian died, his life went to hell and he became his own guy; the badass Guy who even turned on Prince John and Vaisy. FTW, GUY OF GISBOURNE!

Is it just me or is there something funny about how Gisborne is always getting hurt or screwed over by everyone? Now when I watch anything with Richard Armitage in it, I'm waiting for him to get slugged at his wedding or tortured by spies. When I don't see it, I think there's something wrong with his character. Lol. Even in North and South he is tortured for not having love returned to him. XD
