This was a suggestion from user wonderb0y, concerning the topic of flinching and turning away from an aggressive opponent. Here, we show you some training methods and provide some theory to help you keep your eyes open, head up, and able to properly defend against your offensive opponent. The next video will continue off of this video, explaining more about counter-punches -- stay tuned!

  • nooooo what happened to the footwork!?

  • @mistajerkinren I'm gonna re-cover blocking, then countering, then footwork. All of those and this video will work together.

  • minor suggestion: make sure your TV's off when you're shooting. No biggy, but a little distracting. Another interesting vid.

  • @happyicecream1234 I know, I'm sorry. Half way through I realized it. Very unprofessional, but lesson learned.

  • You do alot of videos giving people tips on fighting, which is good, but do you actually fight alot yourself, apart from Matches/Tournaments.

  • I purposely keep this unknown to my viewers. This is nothing to be proud of, and I don't want to boast the number of street fights I've been in. I'd be more proud to say I've managed to talk my way out of every street fight... However, this is not the case. I have been in many street fights, which was a big reason why I got into competitive fighting. To read up on stories and personal accounts, check out the forums of fighttips.

  • Your videos are awesome. great at explaining and you cover nearlly every aspect of fighting for beginners.

  • you need to make a video on grab counters my nephew keeps getting into fights and his neck and arms and cheeks are so brusied but i cant teach him cause in a fight i dont let no one get that close lol

  • you should make a video on how to control your breathing...because when i fight i get nervous and i start shaking and breathing heavily and i would like to know how to control that! :)

  • did i miss the point of this video? How do you avoid blinking and flinching ? Are you just advising us to spa?

  • its a ring, not a catwalk. get rid of the hoodie, you don't need to act tough.

  • having a hood on in a fight restricts your pheripheral vision, tsk tsk.

  • you don't wanna keep you head UP...

kind of half tucked into your chest

if its up theres more of a target

  • To get rid of flinching and eye blinking as something comes at me very fast, I made these "robot arms" that throw punches at real speeds to super human speeds. It has helped tremendously, and also in practicing blocking with counter punching. My reaction times have improved. Since there is no telegraph and the punches are random, it IS a challenge. Your video is good in showing other ways to train the eyes to keep on looking. A blink last 100 to 400 ms, that's long in a fight.

  • @FightTipsVideos Did you get into alot of fights because you talked alotta shit back in the day? just curious.

  • song at the beinging
