Connie swam in the New England Prep School Swim Championships before her car accident.
Connie, a 17 year old student-athlete at a prestigious private institution - Hopkins School in New Haven, Connecticut, fell victim to school bullying and an on-campus crime in midst of her college application and swimming recruiting process.
Someone deliberately tampered with Connie's car and caused a near fatal single-car crash. The accident ended Connie's athletic career and left her suffering from physical and psychological trauma. This unsolved crime was committed five days before the varsity swim season begin, and two hours after her parents filed a complaint against the school swim coach and a teammate's parent for bullying/harassment.
