I noticed you first recovered from this fail by getting him to do the thing he already did on his own (touch his nose), but again at your command. So you first set up a compliance situation before you reset your hypnotic loop. This is what Erickson is reported to have done with resistant clients, to order them to resist! Good job and excellent vid.

That's the hardest thing to teach is it not? The thinking on your feet, we do it intuitively but when students ask what you do, it is very hard to explain. For some reason the experience tells you, to switch tracks. There's not one set way of doing it.
