Zeus is 14 years old. He had been neglected for several years by his sick human and developed a terrible abscess from plucking. We've had him since spring '08 and he's doing much better, but we don't expect his chest feathers to grow back. We love him.

I've heard it is so difficult to encourage a self-mutilating bird stop that behavior so kudos to you for adopting him with all his baggage. He seems to be very happy.

Congratulations to you for rescuing this precious bird. I wish they would pass a law: no more bird breeding unless they are going extinct and all the rescue centers are empty from abused birds. People who abuse animals or people should be in prison.
