Hatton is a complete wanker.
My one abiding memory is of him in the 1980s accusing TUC leader Jack Jones (a man who fought, risked his life and saw his friends killed in the cause of socialism in the International Brigade in the Spanish Civil War) of 'not being a true socialist' - what a twat!
