2010 Presidential Medal of Freedom Ceremony

President Obama presents 13 exceptional individuals with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Honorees include former President George H.W. Bush, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, author and poet Maya Angelou, financier Warren Buffett, and Boston Celtic great Bill Russell. Februar 15, 2011.

@verdadero1111 you know as a non American, I think the amount of hatred that exists between the 2 major political parties in your country is the reason why you haven't recovered yet. the blame for the crisis shouldn't be put squarely on one party or one man, but the entire goverment democrats and republicans, and the second you and your country realize that you'll be on the road to recovery. @verdadero1111 I'm not an American but isn't it there right to question the government I'm sure you probably didn't approve or speak kindly of Bush's policies, and don't they have the right to belong to whatever political party or ideology they agree with whether it be republic democrat or communist as your constitution dictates? Good for Maya, I can't imagine that she ever thought she would be receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and for her to receive it from a man of color had to be VERY satisfying to her.
