Umr jalwon mein basar ho
Umr jalwon mein basar ho, yeh zaroori to nahi
Har Sabh-e-gham ki Sehar ho, yeh zaroori to nahi

Cheshm-e-saaqi se piyo, ya labb-e-sagar se piyo
Bekhudi aathon pehar ho , yeh zaroori to nahi

Neendh to Dard ke bistaar pe bhi aa sakti hai
Unki Aagosh mein sarr ho , yeh zaroori to nahi

Sheikh karta to hai Masjid mein Khuda ko sajde'
Uske sajd-on mein asar ho, yeh zaroori to nahi

Sabh ki nazron mein ho Saaqi (God) yeh zaroori hai magar
sabh pe Saaqi ki Nazaar ho, yeh zaroori to nahi

  • I have gone through excellent comments from learned viewers and there is left for me to write. I simply they much - Suhanee ji as always showing good gesture of broad-mindedness to dedicate this song to esteemed BharatGul; presentation with lyrics to find it comfortable listening; and, excellent presentation with great visuals.

    Thanks for excellent presentation.

  • Fantastic upload Suhanee. This definitely reminds us abut this so soulful gazal singer who will be heard through nice friends like you. Thanks for hain.

  • Opening of these slides one after another gives a poetical semblance of sort....of those jalwon ki jo umr basar karanein ko dhoondate hain....how do they all know that they need to get a master key first from one Vipan Da....who is busy saari umr basar karanein ko...

jalwe to phir vahi kahate hain...

itana hi upkaar samajh koi jitana saathh nibha de...

Enjoyed this delightful piece of music and slide art..thanks

what a delight? after a long day?it relaxed me more than a cup pf hot coffee.apex of shayeroi and dhoon and that too in my fav singer late jagjit ji.

all praises for superb graphic works.,you excel here deserve 10/10

i am good and and look forward for yr prayers as ever.

    jeeto raho.

    uncle.

  • @sqhzaidi I am most thankful for your kind words, Qasim Bhai, and also to crazyoldsongs for her appreciation. And of course, we all share our admiration for the beloved late singer JS. As for Suhanee, again we are all alike in our esteem for her; she has very few equals in the choices she makes and in the style of her presentations.

  • A period of 17 seconds from 8.40 to 8.57 in a single breath, exhibiting phenomenal use of vocal chords, fixes a final stamp on the greatness of Jagjit Singh as a singer. On the other hand Suhanee, the dexterity you have shown in pasting beautiful pics on this remarkable ghazal dedicated to Vipan Bhai has made it so charming that I am dumb founded. This shows the special respect you owe to Vipan bhai which I equally share with you. Thanks Suhanee.

  • @BharatGul i have heard this ghazal many times before but never so intently ! i am understanding the proper meaning of the couplets for the first time because of your explanation ! thank you as always . and thanks to our yt queen who always gifts special joys . i was just remembering her when i came across this song . ! thank you suhanee !

  • Part 2: And your pictures of the sky's brilliant hues juxtaposed with varied conditions of darkness; of the outstretched hands of prayer ; and of a miniature painting of a man and his beloved in a state of inebriated romance all beautifully illuminate the theme of the ghazal. Thank you.

  • Part !:Between you and Ajay, I have my wish doubly fulfilled. I am most grateful for your dedication to me, Suhanee. IMHO, this is the acme of Jagjit Singh's repertoire. Every couplet in the priceless ghazal by Ibn-e-Insha teaches how we don't have the right to expect our lives to be filled with an uninterrupted series of fulfilled hopes and festive experiences; that we need to take our failures and disappointments in stride.
