I've had most kinds of problems on Linux, but then I've run it in various incarnations since 1999 … however: with Xubuntu 11.10 I've had no audio issues, no kernel update issues, no wifi isses, actually no real issues but one: high power usage (I know it's fixable by one terminal command which might make things more unstable, but, well, the bug shouldn't be there at all …). Oh and I had to pay for Spotify Preview ;)
Main problem with Linux in my opinion are the hardware conflicts that easily happen, drivers incompatibility, hardware identification problems, installed software management, and lack of clear support (yeah there is a community, but problems have no clear solutions, its just you and your machine).
So it's 2012 now and I am using Linux. I don't have any audio issues, my WiFi works perfectly, never has any update broken functionality on my system and I have all the software I need.
wow some very interesting points in this vid. Package managers in my opinion have always been a huge issue and still are. They dont really work well they do but they dont. Compiled binaries on linux need to work to a specific hardware or compiler optimizations yet on closed source how do you compile the package with your specific hardware utilization's. Somehow ATI has managed this to a certain degree. Package managers fail in this area strait away. traditional make && make install is the way
@SuperGamias ...waste. So many work for linux in so many directions that the OS is lost. The question is simple Why one should move to any Linux distro? so the answer is because is free and open ...so what? everybody knows to read the code? the answer must be is better in any aspect and is free because we like it
I was like the idea of linux a good way to win the "communism" in OS and see some real progress but this "free anarchist shit hippy style" make linux and any distro red light district. Ubuntu is in a good way but they are missing the point.Linux need one good distro so hardware companys can touch it ,need a fucking simple setup, need 1000% compability with Windows and especialy with GAMES and everything goes with them .Linux is utopistic and that huge effort is going waste

Use ReactOS that is the future.
It is not ready yet and missing a compatibility layer for Linux
but it is THE ONLY OS that ATTACKS WINDOWS.
