There are 3 hidden chracters that u can only get during gameplay: Mech Zangeif,Ken, and Akuma

Zangeif to Mech Zangeif-back,down,down-back + low kick

Ryu to Akuma-forward,down,back + high punch

Ryu to Ken-forward,down,back medium punch

Ken/Akuma to Ryu-forward,back,down +low punch

TIPS: If you r using a joystick, it could be easier to perform cuz u can do a half a circle clockwise instead of forward back down.

i have the psx version and am told i can transform into akuma ryu and ken ryu by holding either select or start before choosing ryu , any insight as to the validity of this ?

yea hold start then press any button to get akuma and hold select then press any button to get ken.

From what I remembered you can turn Ryu into Dan as well
