The fulfilment of the dream to see a Peppercorn 'A1' take its rightful place on modern metals drew a great many onlookers to the Great Central Railway Steam Gala (Oct 11,12th). Here, the incredible, powerful lines of the 'Pacific' are seen at Woodthorpe and, later, leaving Loughborough with an assortment of vans, part of the outstanding collection resident at the GCR.
Congratulations to all at the AI Locomotive Society - she's quite a machine!
It's too bad they had to forfeit funds due to the engine being ruled a "replica" instead of the next engine in its line.

She's beautiful, but what a shame that Britain is no longer anywhere the cutting edge of locomotive design.

It is great to see a brand new steam engine built in the UK. and I hope it will be around for along time. But please change the colour. it looks like it is still in primer.
