    It's good that this kind of skill/equipment is avail in the islands. My friend @ Kawajalien (sp?) says they sometimes have to wait months for machining and parts to be flown in.

  • Hon Iron (Honolulu Iron Works) in Hilo made rollers like this for all the sugar mills, they also re-built rollers by welding & re-cutting the grooves...

    That's how I was exposed to machining...

  • they make this parts to make the sugar, they mash the cane sugar with this, this parts are make up of cast iron the sizes vary, this is old school i used to do it in mexico, they weld teeth on it that is why he is grinding it.
