@1935rmb Yes, I was a hired gun but there's a differnce. The USMC kills for 1/10 of what I earned in the Legion. I think that makes me a better mercenary. The USMC is not what it was in ww2. Now it's a bunch of wannabe mercenaries who yell at arabs all day long to clear their way.

@couteau86 After 9/11 the Afghan govt was given the ultimatum to surrender the Taliban leaders or face the consequences. They refused. Pres Bush on 9/20/2001 made clear to all countries regarding the war on terrorism: "you are either with us or with the terrorists." Countries were given a choice. Some learn the hard way, some prefer the easy way. Sometimes you have to knock heads to get the attention our demands required. Too bad for them. Hooray for our side. HoooHaw!

@FanVikingMetal The Legion would not be a very good recommendation to join the USMC or immigrate to USA. The Legion mutinied against their commanders in France, no?  This makes the Legion a bunch of rogues and Americans would consider this dishonorable conduct. Also, the Legion was nothing but a tool for French imperialists against a native population which is what patriots of the American revolution also fought against. The Legion was known for torture and abuse.
