Rep. Alan Grayson's apology

Congressman Alan Grayson (FL-08) offers up an apology after being called on by Republicans to do so for his previous remarks. I don't think it was precisely the apology they were expecting.

Why do we not have more representative like this?????? Either we need to boot out 90% of the disillusioned incumbents or they need to grow some balls!

Alan Grayson cn be thought of as an experiment. If he gets re-elected by a land slide as I expect, it will show others that you can be a politician and state your opinions plainly.

If Grayson loses, it will be evidence that the voters prefer weasels who will tell them what they want to hear even if it is a complete lie. 2010 will tell us if there is any hope for the nation or not.

@knowledgemonger Pretty dang bold for a freshman senator, huh? Pretty refreshing to see someone stand up for the people, not big corporations. I'm hoping for a landslide...

Wrong definition for faith.

"Faith is the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.[1][2] The word "faith" can refer to a religion itself or to religion in general. As with "trust", faith involves a concept of future events or outcomes, and is used conversely for a belief "not resting on logical proof or material evidence."[3][4] Informal usage of the word "faith" can be quite broad, and may be used in place of "trust" or "belief.""

Well at first I was going to argue that definitions of such words were pretty variable anyway, but actually your definition is pretty much in sync with mine. Which leaves me confused as to why reply to my post with this.

Your original definition of faith is different: "Faith requires the person believe something that is by definition unprovable, and ignore any evidence that contradicts that faith."

Faith has nothing to do with believing in something "unprovable". In which case you'd have to define "unprovable". The definition I gave is more accurate in that the word Faith can be interchanged with the words "trust" or "belief".

Seems very semantic to me and I do not see how it applies to whether or not I am an atheist or an agnostic. I do not believe in gods, the supernatural, magic, etc. I do not believe them because I see no evidence for them. I have no "faith" in that claim because they are all negatives which are unprovable. And although I acknowledge it is possible I could be wrong and evidence will be found proving the existance of one of those things, I do not think it will happen.

I have no faith.
